Through her writing, dramaturgy, performance, podcasting, creative direction, coaching, and social impact consulting, Julissa speaks truth to power, elevating necessary dialogue through reflective experiences and storytelling that create pathways for meaningful change. At the core, Julissa believes in the expansion of our collective consciousness and the preservation of our nuanced yet meaningful histories.
Julissa is the creator of Ladies Who Bronché, SPIRA, cofounder of StoryQuo, and creator of the YouTube hit “Shit Spanish Girls Say.” Her off-Broadway debut, Vámonos at INTAR Theatre, boasted 3 extensions and record-breaking firsts within the NYC theater community. Julissa is a faculty member at Lighthouse Writers and The Writer’s Hood, Board Chair at INTAR Theatre, and artistic advisor at The People’s Theater in NYC. Currently, Julissa is Community Manager of TheLi.st, a private community of high-impact leaders across industries.
In the spiritual and personal development space, Julissa co-founded Spira Cycles, the Rebirth Retreat with Vida Valdes of the Almighty Pineapple, and curates a variety of interactive experiences to guide people to root/uproot through the truth of their life’s narrative.

Julissa’s work has been produced and commissioned across a number of festivals, workshops, and residencies throughout the country over the last 15 years. In the digital space, Julissa is regarded as a voice of curiosity, exploration, and truth. She’s a featured writer for Mitu’s “The Kat Call”, Spotify’s “Lenny Says” podcast, and Skittlez Music TV. She has been a host for the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute across several programs, and a featured storyteller at Spotify, Poderistas, Revolve Impact, and more. As a Dominicana from the Bronx, Julissa tells stories about the intersections of life that socialized her, inviting audiences to meet her at the crossroads of truth as we explore universality.
Her work has been commissioned and nurtured at Folger Shakespeare Library (2025), Latinx Playwright’s Circle's Mentorship Program at Kabayitos Theater(2022), LPC’s Greater Good Commision(2020), INTAR’s MicroTEATRO festival(2021), Pregones Theater SolFest (2021), Atlantic Theater’s African Caribbean Mixfest (2020), MTA Radio Plays at Rattlestick(2021), Theater Jam at Rattlestick (2017, 2019), Harlem 9’s 48 Hours in El Bronx (2020,2025), BX Writer’s Year Gone Hazy anthology, Teatro LATEA’s MLK Festival(2018), Space on Ryder Farm Greenhouse Residency (2017), One-Minute Play Festival at INTAR (2012-2019), Maria Irene Fornes Festival at INTAR (2011), and Middle Voice Theater where she was a founding member (2013).
In addition to her artistic endeavors, Julissa has dedicated 15+ years to working within communities, nonprofits, and companies with a focus on social impact, creative direction, storytelling, community programming, and ethical engagement practices.
